Miachelle (Mia) Marzullo Personal Statement

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Hello superpowered people! I am glad to be with you on this journey of self-discovery.
My name is Mia Marzullo, and I am a Risk and Resiliency practitioner, certified as a
Master Business Continuity Planner (MBCP), specializing in technical business
recovery, life safety program design, and Business Continuity Management program
leadership. I am also a high functioning, 2e, Autistic woman with ADHD. (Superpower
engaged!) 2e means doubly gifted in my book

At age 52, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I chose my own journey of self-discovery in
ASD after decades of wondering why I was different and what was wrong with me.
Upon being formally diagnosed, I realized that I am now finally free. It was like being
released from a jail cell with an open door while holding the key. My self-imposed
mental prison, and my whole life just makes sense now.

No longer a prisoner of my own mind, I quickly integrated my existing CBTs with new
skills and cognitive workarounds help stop the overthinking and leverage my Aspergers
to master productivity rather than staying stuck. I now own my life rather than letting
others control it.

I believe those on the Spectrum are purposely designed for a reason and I want to
shine the light into dark places for others, like me, to help unlock their personal freedom.

My passions include coaching home-based and entrepreneurial professionals, managing
my antique and artisan micro-shops, and furthering the advancement of professionals
and adult students, like me who live with ASD.

When I am not working, I travel, experiences nature, creatively recycle and repurpose,
while caring for my canine companion. I intend to publish my first neurodivergent book in early 2025.
